2006 was the perfect vintage for our 13 year old block of Clone 8 Cabernet Sauvignon. We harvested on October 23rd after 4 weeks of hang-time heaven. Aromas of dark cherries and boysenberry are complimented by classic mountain aromas of volcanic flint and minerals. All of the above follow through on the palate. Here they are framed by perfectly ripened fruit, giving this wine amazing density and mouth feel for a mountain wine. This is nicely complemented by an exceedingly long finish with polished tannins and smooth wood overtones.

The 2006 vintage rewarded our cabernet block with extended hang time and 75-80 degree days. The vines put every ounce of energy into producing what looks to be a perfect vintage. A full spectrum of dark fruits, boysenberry, black cherry, pumpkin pie spice and a crushed rock like minerality greet you upfront. This exotic combination is coupled with deep layers of complexity & firm, ripe, integrated tannins. True to its roots, this wine displays bold mountain fruit characteristics yet its silky structure and barrel spice leave you with a finish that last and lasts
